Description
Short summary paper of a presentation done at the 36th Annual Lunar and Planetary Science Conference, March 14-18, 2005, in League City, Texas. Discusses how there is an ongoing question regarding ungrouped iron meteorites, and what they might be able to tell researchers about the diversity of meteoritic parent bodies and by extension the formation of astral bodies. Uses study of the Tishomingo meteorite to discuss the similarities and differences than can be found between grouped and ungrouped irons, and how those delineations might be best understood moving forward, particularly when it comes to the possibility of some ungrouped irons being variations on those that have already been grouped.
