Photo of a B-36 airplane. On reverse: "FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE This scene, which took place August 14, 1954, is scheduled to be repeated in reverse on February 12, 1959. The occasion in 1954 was the delivery to the Air Force of the last B-36 intercontinental bomber produced at the Fort Worth plant of Convair Division of General Dynamics Corporation. The reversal comes on February 12 when the Air Force plans to return this same bomber to Amon Carter Field, Fort Worth, Texas, where it will be decommissioned and retired from service. The huge bomber will remain at Amon Carter Field, permanently installed near the terminal building, where it will be maintained as a memorial by members of Convair's Management Club."
