Abstract
This catalogue offers bibliographical descriptions for the four eighteenth century and 132 nineteenth century American literature titles in the Lewis Collection. The objective of the catalogue is twofold. When possible, it identifies and describes each title as a unique copy. When possible, it classifies each title as an example of a specific edition, printing, issue, or state. The catalogue informs scholars, students, and book collectors as to exactly what the eighteenth and nineteenth century American literature sections of the Lewis Collection contain.
