Abstract | This thesis examines how three orchestras in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex adapt music appreciation using technology. Music appreciation aims to educate classical music audiences to better understand and enjoy concerts. Orchestras constantly update and improve how they perform music appreciation to better reach their audiences. To explore how orchestras of different levels adapt music appreciation, this thesis analyzes what resources the Dallas Symphony, the Fort Worth Symphony, and the Fort Worth Civic Symphony provide to educate their audiences. It focuses on three forms of music appreciation: program notes, preconcert talks, and educational programs. |
