dc.description.transcription5/4/43 Dear Mrs Deakens, I assume you were responsible for my receiving news items pertaining to Mr. Carter's son. It was so thotful of you for I talk with mrs. Naylor quite often and we are both so interested. Had dinner recently with Brig.-Gen. MacQuillin. He had been in command of Amon, Jr's unit at the time of their battle. Was glad to learn of Amon's safety. Mabelle Brown
