Mar 16 1943 Dear Amon: I have just learned that your son is listed among the missing. I know you too well, and the deep feeling you had for your boy, to attempt to soften the anxiety you must be suffering by any easy or superficial consolations. In the absence of any definite news, however, and by the ratios of chance in war, we must assume that it is quite possible that he was captured. I devoutly hope so and I want you to know that your friends are grieving and praying with you. Sincerely- Arthur Kudner
