dc.description.transcription | 3-26-43Dear Folks,I am still here.I have to report for roll call at 7:30 in the morning. They have quit calling us three or four times a day, now they just call us once.We spend the rest of our time in our barracks playing penny ante, reading, holdingbull sessions, and giving each other the best foot. The rest is doing me good though, for the first time since the first week I’ve been here I don’t have a sore throat. The latest rumor, although this one is from a fairly reliable source, is that all of the Colleges in Texas are filled up. The bunch that shipped out today went to Tenn. so another went. Another rumor has it that 300 are to be shipped out tomorrow, lets hope that I am among them.I got Charlie’s letter yesterday so don’t bother to tell him to write me.Nothing else is new so I’ll quit.Love,Joe | |
