E ARMY FLYING SCHOOL GREENVILLE, MISS.Sat. I don’t know the date.Dear Folks,Well its all over now but getting on the train. This we will do at some ungodly hour in the morning. I should have written sooner but I didn’t know the date of shipment and there was nothing else to tell as we have been doing nothing but sleeping and tieing up loose ends, filling out forms, attending lecturesetc. We have been going to town every night, but there is still nothing to tell about that. As you already knew, my next post will be George Field. I have found out that George Field is near the thriveing metropolis of Lawrenceville, Ill. a town of some 6,000 citizens as the rumors go.I guess Papa has told you all about our visit, but let me add my two cents and say that I really got a kick out of it. I only wish that it hadn’t been so short and that you could have been with him Mama. However you and Amywere one up on Papa so we can’t complain too much about that. Whatever Papa tells you about those six dominoe games, don’t believe it.Oh yes, Mama, don’t change your plans too drastically about coming up and watching me graduate. A lot of things have to be taken into consideration before it is wise to say yea or ney. We’ll discuss that later. We have to get our room in pre-moveout inspection order now so I’ll sign off until my new home is George Field. I’ll write or call at the earliest opportunity.Love,Joe
