dc.description.transcription | O: MRS. E.A. HAYS 512 W MULKEY FT WORTH, 4 TEXAS FROM: F/O J.W.HAYS T-64121 707 52 446 68 A.P.O. 558 C/O POST MASTER, N.Y. N.Y.2-30-45Dear Folks,This letter writing is becoming a definite problem. It will continue to be such until I get some mail so I can have a basis to write on. I do have some good news to relate. My long lost baggage finally caught up with me. Now, oh happy day, I can change my socks. A lot of my stuff got some mighty rough treatment but I’m proud of it, beat up as it is. Ruth, the stationery you gave me got about the roughest treatment of anything I owned. I also had a brand new paste board can of talcom powder that was smashed to smithereens and its contents evenly dispersed over all my belongings. I’ll smell like a Saturday night date everywhere I go nowfor a while. Before I run out of paper I have a request to make. Send me 2 ¾ sheets and a pillow case. There is a shortage of such luxuries around these parts. I’ll quit for now. All my love,Joe | |
