N.Y2-9-45Dear Folks,Well, so there are some boats still crossing the ocean. I got a letter from brother yesterday, which I promptly answered, and six today. One from Mama and Papa, one from Ruth, one from Iris, and three from Amy. They all had my old A.P.O. number too. The rest of them should start coming soon. Its late tonight Amy, but tomorrow I’ll see if I can’t answer some of your questions.They must of like the way I OD’ed the other day because I was stuck on it again. The letters that some people write that I had to censor. Some of them are pretty good too. I’ve learned enough that I can start giving lessons on love letter writing.The reason it got late in the first paragraph is because I went to a show tonight. We have a show almost every night in the Officers Club! Most of them are old but this one hasn’t been released in the States yet. The moral of it was Devotion I think. Its bed time so good night now. The collection includes a complete set of letters written by Joseph Warren Hays to his family while serving in the Army Air Corps during World War II. The letters detail his aviation training across the United States and his service in Europe toward the end of the war. In his later years, Mr. Hays wrote recollections of his missions over Europe. The collection also includes printed publications, newspaper clippings, a scrapbook, a photograph of Hays, and ephemera.
