February 18, 1944: Hello Darling, 27 more officers came in last night from the Italian front, and 2 are from Fort Worth. From what I hear, there aren't many Texans left. Have had only ten letters of yours so far. Are the censors in the US returning them? There is no limit on the mail we can receive, have had over 300letters. It is snowing as usual and we are all waiting for spring. Will write letter next week. All my love. Amon.
