Mrs. Maurice March 26, 1943 Dear Mr. Carter, I have just learned that Amon is among the nine officers, including my husband, who are missing from their outfit since February 14th. I have been keeping in touch with several of the wives of those missing so that we may relay such scanty information as we have back and forth. We feel we have very good reason to believe and to hope that they were all taken prisoners; however, it is extremely hard to sit and wait for some word, any definite news. Please, Mr. Carter, should you by any means, receive any further information, I shall be very grateful if you would let me know of it. WIth a constant prayer for our boys- Very sincerely Shirley Docton
