dc.description.transcriptionMr. Amon G. Carter Fort Worth, Texas Dear Mr. Carter: I am sorry I waas not at home when you letter, dated May 29th came. I wanted to thank you for writing to me about my son Lt. John R. Martin, who is a prisoner of war. It helps a great deal to know just where is is located. I have had a letter and three cards from him since he has been at Camp Oflag 64. The card I received today was dated April 27th, in which he says, " he found Colonel Yarldy and several other officers from his outfit, and things don't seem so bad with some of his friends on hand" He seems rather cheerful, ut wants food. i have sent him one parcel of food also cigarettes, and for mail well he certainly will get that, for I write tons. Thank you again Mr. Carter for the information of my son's location Sincerely, Mrs. Louise Martin I hope you hear form your son often!
