dc.description.transcription | Dear Amon: I said a prayer of thanksgiving when I heard the enclosed. How happy I know you are to know now that it wont be long until you are reunited with your fine son. Ohh- this awful war! What toll it has taken! I read with keen interest the Star-Telegram Editoral. We Texans really get them started! It was our Connally who first broke the good news. I am here for the summer - I have a house here - The card enclosed shows the location - it is the house in the extreme left hand corner - only a portion (?) but you see I overlook the "blue Pacific." It is really a beautiful spot - more like the South of France the Riviera. I think of my friends in Texas so often. How well I remember the nice visit you and John Naylor had with us on "The Home On The Range." Always kindest regards and fond memories from your sincere friend Katie Weaver Rose May 5th '45 | |
