dc.description.transcription208 Artillery Post, Fort Sam Houston, Tex, Sept 25, 1945. Dear Amon: I have received orders assigning me to Command of the Second Army at Memphis, Tenn. My official address there will be: Headquarters Second Army Memphis, Tenn. Mrs. Simpson and I will leave here tomorrow for Memphis and will be at the Peabody Hotel there. That was a fine editorial in the Star-Telegram advocating that Admirals and Generals who fought in this war be permitted to retire with their watime rank & pay. If you ever come through Memphis please let us know. Mrs. Simpson and I both again wish to assure you of our thanks and appreciation for your many courtesies to us during our visits to Fort Worth. With kindest regards and best wishes from us both, I am Sincerely yours, W. H. Simpson Lieutenant General, U. S. Army.
