Dear Mr & Mrs Carter, What a happy time we had with you! You were certainly kind to someone who came along so unexpectedly and I now am very glad I did otherwise I wouldn't have met you both or your grand son, daughter and friends. Thank you for your hospitality, the gay good time, the beautiful hat and most of all the please of meeting you both. We got home Tuesday night around nine-thirty after a calm and uneventful trip. It was so exciting to be in Texas again. I hope someday we can spend ;pt of time there. It seems so much like home to us both. I shudder at the thought of those "candids" I hope the results are better than usual of me - but its hard to be optimistic. I hope we have the opportunity of having you in our home someday not too far distant. Many thanks and best wishes Sincerely Gladys Vandenberg
