Title | Creating Interest in Textiles: A Pedagogical Perspective |
---|---|
Author | Reddy, Shweta L. |
Date | 2018 |
Abstract | This paper presents pedagogical insight gained from instructing ‘fundamentals of textiles’, ‘textile testing and analysis’ and ‘sustainability in fashion’ to students of fashion merchandising. The challenge for any teacher is to capture student interest and to keep students interested in the topic. The paper makes an argument that study of textiles becomes valuable to students when they become aware of textiles being a confluence of science, technology, art, culture and sustainability. |
