dc.description.transcription1. When & where did you find this meteorite? In July 1933 2. What kind of ground was it in, & how eep? On job in small ditch 3. How did you happen to find it (plowing, walking, or just what—)? Hoeing Botton 4. Draw a sketch of your farm, & mark x where you found the meteorite. If possible, show some of your neighbor’s farms, too, so I can get this “lay of the land”. 5. Do you know of any story of a great meteor or a fireball having appeared near Deport, and which might have dropped these meteorites? If so, give details. There was one fall in 1882 there has been pieces found on 4 or so farms the Laine runs from north west to south east for about 3 miles. 6. Do you have any other meteorites? No 7. Have you had any others & sold them, & if so, to whom? No 8. Do you know of any others in the neighborhood? Yes If so, give approximate size & name of owners. Bet they have written you about them a mr. Gifford Deport. If any time it would be convenient for you to come over here would be glad to go to the places meteorites have been found with you & let you talk to some all people here.
