dc.description.transcription | 1958, Dec. 5. Mrs. H. R. Wilson, Forestburg, Texas. Dear Mrs. Wilson: To let you know that I truly appreciate your help in getting the two Forestburg meteorites this past year, I am pleased to enclose a check which is roughly a 10% commission on what I paid for these, and I sincerely hope you will accept it. It ought to come in handy now at Christmas time, but if for any reason you feel scruples about accepting it, you can surely spend it on sone of you activities in connection with the cabin or other historical work. I have the Freeman stone at a photographers shop here getting some good pictures made of it, and the Scott stone is still on exhibit. I will try to send you some more pictures soon. I haven't done too much on astronomy the last month because my wife had to have some surgery and that has kept us pretty well tied down. Fortunately she is very much better now and up and about. On various trips up there I talked to many of the people in the neighborhood of these two finds, and it would not be surprising if more meteorites showed up in the next year or two. I hope to come back before long and do some more of this talking, which is a plan I outlined to Mr. Freeman. Yours sincerely, | |
