dc.description.transcription1958, October 3. Mrs. R. H. [H. R.] Wilson, Forestburg, Texas. Dear Mrs. Wilsons: I did appreciate your kind reception of me last Sunday, and your trouble in leading me out to the Freeman place, and introducing me to them. Thanks for the forgiveness! I made them an offer of $120 for the stone because it is in such a good state of preservation and npt [not] broken up, but they said they wanted to think about it a few days. I think this is a fair and liberal offer and I have to keep in line to some extent with what I paid Mr. Scott for the other stone. The difference is justified by the better preservation of this later find. With two meteorites found and this much general interest, I know I want to come up and really canvass the vicinity of the finds by talking to the people on the several adjoining places in each case, and I'll try to do this on some coming Sunday. I had intended to come up this week end but now fear it will be too wet or rainy. A little taking around like this and showing of a stone often brings surprising results. Yours sincerely, P. S. I happened to see Wallace Scurr, my cousin, a few days ago, and told him you had again asked about his mother, Mrs. Selma Scurr, He said she had been very seriously ill this last summer but was doing much better now; she recently celebrated her 81st birthday.
