N INSTITUTION UNITED STATES NATIONAL MUSEUM WASHINGTON 25. D. C. August 14, 1958 Mrs,, HI. R. Wilson Forestburg, Texas Dear Mrs. Wilson: My attention was recently called to a notice in the Fort Worth Star Telegram of August 10th about a 58 pound meteorite from Montague County. I want to congratulate you for the part played in getting this specimen identified and placed in a collection. I hope that it will be possible for us to get a specimen of this stone for preservation in our collection. The report said that Oscar Monnig identified this as a meteorite. If that is true, I am confident that this specimen has been duly authenticated and I shall record it as a newly discovered meteorite. Although the account did not say that you sold the specimen, I thought it possible, because I know that Mr. Monnig often displays his specimens in the Children's Museum at Fort Worth. Yours truly, E. P. Henderson Associate Curator Division of Mineralogy and Petrology cc: Mr. Monnig
