dc.description.transcription | W. P. Rooney, Box 687, Fort Stockton, Texas Feb. 21st 1960 Mr Oscar E. Monnig Fort Worth, Texas. Dear Sir:- replying to yours of the 12th beg to advise that I have been unable to find out where that piece of meteorite came from. A friend of mine told me that he was shown a meteorite North of Ft. Stockton but that the owner of the place did not want any notoriety on advertisement & would not give me his name. However I feel sure that should you come out this way we could have a look at it & in the meantime I will keep on making inquiries. The tax coll [collector] that had that metorite [meteorite] has passed away. I have been unable to contact his 2 sons. Awaiting you further somewhere I beg to remain. Yours truly W. P. Rooney | |
