dc.description.transcription | 3-4-7 Dear Oscar, In regard to the Kirbyville stone of 1907, Mrs. Julia Smith of Cameron recalls about 40 or so years ago, she was in bed sick when she heard an explosion and looked out her window and saw a ball of fire going straight down ending at about 10° altitude due east. She said it was late in the evening, possibly twilight. Notice she has the sound first. Does the time of day correspond with the Kirbyville meteorite? It could possibly have been the 1910 meteor she saw Polk Co ? Gene. Mr. O.E. Monnig 1010 Morningside Drive Ft Worth 3 Texas | |
