Broken Bow, Okla April-5-1943 Dearest Smith: We were so glad to hear from you, hope you are all right. We are working in the garden and I have some little chickens so with the children in school we are ? Busy. Jewel Dean will graduate this year and she has grown into a real pretty young lady will be 18 the 7th. I had a letter from David, he is in San Diego Calif. John Mc. has a new daughter and he has a son three years old. Kirby Jack is taller than I, and weights 130 lbs. he is 15 yrs old. seems so long since we saw you and the kids have grown so much. Florence and Bud are in Washington and Aubrey has left home and gone to Dallas so the kids are all getting grown so fast. Bea and Howard and baby live near Aunt Lois. Gus' son A.B. Jr. is in Okla City and Robert is in Va. somewhere. Grandpa and Grandma are all right considering their age. Dad has been working in garden, mother helps some too. I went to church last night Joe Roger goes to school and to Sun. school (over) he is a big boy now. He can go to town alone and everwhere. I had a letter from Virginia she has another baby, a boy. guess you will hear from her before you get this letter. I will write more after if you can get this U.S. mail and we hope you do. you must let us hear from you soon. I will close hoping you are fine, love from us all Aunt Lucia an dkids.
