Henderson (of the Smithsonian Institution) letting him know that the mother of Glen Orr (the finder of Tishomingo meteorite) has dropped off a larger specimen of the meteorite with him and that he will be expressing it onward to Henderson. Says that he is certain that it will prove to be a meteorite, or that no one should ever again be able to say they can identify a meteorite by sight. Also asks for Henderson to send him a written explanation of why the museum's scientists are hesitant to call Tishomingo a meteorite so that he can better understand.Prior written permission from TCU Special Collections required to use any document or photograph.MeteoriteTishomingo (Okla.)Ungrouped ironHenderson, Edward P.Smithsonian InstitutionOrr, Glen HarrisLetter from Oscar Monnig to Edward P.
