Fortunately, I grew up with several mentors who gave me the resources and courage to continue to college. The importance of mentoring can be overlooked in adolescent lives, and I wanted to bring awareness and provide support. I created an organization called Be Authentic that provides high school girls career and/or college preparation, professional skill development and helps participants build positive self-worth. "Be Authentic" endeavors to create the environment I had that led to success in college. I am conducting an empirical evaluation to test how mentoring contributes to the college mindset of female adolescents.Creating "Be Authentic": Evaluating the Effects of Mentoring on College Mindset in Female Adolescents
