The Bells were Mexican vaudeville artists who performed between the 1890s and the 1920s. Heirs of England-born Richard Bell (1858-1911), the most popular clown in turn-of-the-century Mexico, the Bell family toured the world with their circus and vaudeville show. After becoming involved in filmmaking, the Bell Vaudeville company officially retired in 1926.

The papers document, largely with photographs, the careers of the members of the Bell Vaudeville company. The collection contains photographs and other information on the Bell family, and small collections of the personal papers of Edward Andre Bell, Jr. and his wife, Harriet Griffith Inniss.
