Letter from Oscar Monnig to Brian Mason (of the Smithsonian Institution Department of Mineral Sciences) asking whether a Class II Carbonaceous Chondrite is actually weakly attracted to magnets given that in collecting multiple specimens of the Bells meteorite they had to use a magnet. Also discusses Edward Anders experiments on the false sample of Bells which he has now determined is certainly terrestrial, and wonders if a meteorite could be altered to appear terrestrial.
