Abstract
Ladylike is a thesis exhibition that examines the construction of identity in contemporary western culture. A variety of materials are at play in the exhibition, presented in tandem, they create a dialogue about disparity and similarity among gendered objects. Within the work, questions of identity play out through a layering of materials, text and visual imagery that work to provoke fractures in conventional narratives of power.
