Abstract | Previous research indicates that the Texas Core Triangle - DFW, Houston, Austin, and San Antonio - is the largest functionally integrated megalopolis in the US. This thesis will use GIS technologies to map out a cluster analysis of industries on regional and local scales to determine if agglomeration is occurring throughout the Texas Core Triangle. If agglomeration is occurring on a regional as well as local level, then each city contains unique economic bases, which act as a whole greater than the sum of its parts. |
