dc.description.transcription | Aug. 10 "1941. Dear Mr. Carter: - Your letter to John N just arrived - Lilly and Ann have come to take me on a little vacationing trip with them through part of our glorious west - so I am trying to leave my desk clear. Mr. Garner says he can't suggest a plan by which you can "disappear" the portrait - but whatever you can do with the consent of the owner of the picture will be o.k. with him - we do not know who adjusted the change [illegible] - I feel sure you know with whom to take the matter up - the children are hoping to pursuade John N. to take a little vacation with us - I also hope so but have "me doubts." With love from us both - Sincerely Ettie Garner | |
