Sept 26" P.M. Dear Mr. Carter. Mr. Stone is leavingus this P.M. - I think he has enjoyed his visit to Uvalde - and the Garners have certainly enjoyed having him in our home. He is fine and his work is splendid - if a portrait of Mr. Garner can be better than the one we have on our walls, the one he is just finishing is- they both are Mr. Garner. All who have seen the picture are delighted and amazed that one can makesuch a wonderful likeness in such a short time - A sweep of the brush and there the man - almost alive. We hope to see you one of these good days. Love Sincerely Ettie Garner.
