Friday- Dear Mrs. Deakins: Thank you for calling me when I was too shocked I couldn't speak, & I still can't think of anything to say; I'm so upset, and after a sleepless nite, I'm in no better condition to try to tell you how deeply I feel. The whole outfit will surely fight for Amon, Jr's. release; we must have faith. And now that we are on the offensive, it can happen soon. It takes so long to get information, and that's not encouraging. I really do believe in my own heart that he will be all right. consoling words are so useless - the situation is really terrible, & that's all there is to it - to hide our heads in the sand is childish. We just have to face it, take it, and have faith that God will bring him through safely. -2- Give my love to Mr. Carter - my mind is with you both all the time. I'd like to know how he is when you do find time to write, but I do realize that aside from your work at the office you have a trememdous responsibility - and with it all your heart is so heavy. Let us hope and pray for Amon's release very soon. I'm equally worried about his dad. Sincerely, Jane Wiedermann I received the newspaper you sent the other day and appreciated your thinking of me - am saving it for Sidney.
