dc.description.transcription3-12-43. Dear Mr. and Mrs. Carter: It is with regret we see in the papers that your son has been reported as missing. We can imagine how you feel, as we, too, have a son in N. Africa. Our son is Major Rollin L. Elkins in the 1st Armored Reg. He signed the menu, Mr. Carter, that you and your son signed just before the forces left England for Africa. We deeply appreciate, Mrs. Carter, the time you phoned us that Mr. Carter had recently seen our son. We hope and pray that your boy will yet turn up ok. Very truly Mr. & Mrs. A.W. Elkins
