March 13th '43 Dear Amon: I have just read of the shocking report of Amon Jr's being missing and hasten to write you to be one of all your friends. Hoping you may by how have word that he is safe. Tomorrow will be three years since my precious Frank left me. I have never been happy at Lamesa since he was no longer there, that probably explains my moving here. You have my earnest prayers that you will soon learn of Amon Jr's being safe. Always your sincere friend Katie
