dc.description.transcriptionDear Mr Carter: Henry and I are thinking of you in these trying days of anxious waiting and our sincere sympathy goes out to you. So often there has been the impulse to thank you for the fine service you have given this city. Now during these days of conflict, we have further reason to acknowledge our debt to you- for you ahve given to our country a gallant soldier- Your own dear son. Amon Junior won a place in the hearts of all who knew him and today we are hoping and praying for his safe return. With appreciation and sympathy, I am Nellie Day Trigg. 3/19/43
