Mar 23rd 43 1936 Clybourn Ave Burbank Calif- My dear Mr Carter:- I have just learned of your recent trouble and want you to know I'm thinking of and praying for both you and Amon Jr. I think Mr Carter I can sympathize with you as few others can. In giving up my darling little by (Pete Burnett) was the worst blow I've ever had, and I won't ever get over it. I've had to work hard all my life, and have little of this worlds goods, but I feel rich in knowing I raised such a fine honorable boy as Pete was. I knew Amon Jr personally, as he came to my house a few times with Pete and I admired his frank honest way and this world will be the loser if he isn't returned to his Co soon. You have done so much for others, and in such a gracious manner, I feel our heavenly father will look after you and yours and I feel that your dear boy will soon be reunited with you. Believe me when I tell you I'm truly sorry for your and pray our father in heaven to bless you and give you strength in this sorrow. I'm in Calif for a while as my only daugher is here. But my heart is in Ft Worth and Texas and hope soon to be able to come home. Sincerely your friend- Emma Riggins
