March 31/43 my dear Amon: Due to absences from Shreveport I've only learned in the past few days of Amon Junior being reported as "Missing in Action"- from what I'm told this report came following the "Huns" push in Tunisia, several weeks ago. As an ex-soldier I feel that he must be a Prisoner; for the German break through and advance was most rapid- Such I trust is the case and that you and his other dear ones will soon get word that he is alive and well. With my deep understanding of your thoughts and friendship_ Very Sincerely John D. Ewing
