Dear Sir, For the past year I have been trying to obtain a Flight Engineer's Position with American Airlines through the Dallas personnel office. So far I haven't had any luck. My experience for the position is five years in aircraft maintenance and flying, a CAA flight engineers certificate, and a college education. Included in this are three years during World War II as a flight engineer - Crew chief in Troop Carrier Command. August 1950, I was recalledd to active duty for the Korean Emergency to work one year on B-36+ at Corswell. Since being releaed I have been working as a flight line mechanic in Convair's flight test department, #64. In my spare time I have been getting an aircraft and engine mechanics license. I lack one section, hydraulics, on the aircraft of having this completed. You see, Sir, I have been trying very hard to make aviation my lifes work. I am going to stay in aviation and am sure both American Airlines and I could benefit a great deal from the connection. Effective monday, July 28th, I am to be laid off off at Convair. I am married and have one child. If you are in a position to help me in any way, it would be greatly appreciated. If you like, I would be very happy to talk this over with youat your convenience. Sincerely, Charles L, Coyle
