dc.description.transcription | 1-5-45Dear Folks,I almost talked myself out of the notion of writing again on the excuse that I planned to call home tonight. Howeverit is only 1315 now and lots of things can happen between now and tonight. This was proven while I was at Topeka. They got us off in a pretty big hurry at Topeka but that is not supposed to be an excuse fornot writing. I just keptputting it off, then I would plan to call, then wham!, it was too late.I have been sitting here for 15 minutes trying to say something that wouldn’t be revealing military secrets. The truth about the matter is, I don’t know just a whole lot and what I do know I can’t tell. I’m ashamed to quit now with this miserable excuse of a letter but this is all there is there ain’t no more for the present. I can think of something to tell, this is the first long trip I ever made in my life where I didn’t catch a cold. In fact everything isjust fine in general. I’ll write tomorrow if possible because I won’t be able to call.Love,Joe | |
