dc.description.transcription | 5-14-43Dear Folks,Did you ever hear of anyone having the mumps twice? You didn’t? Now another question. If some one were to have the mumps twice who do you think that it would be? That’s right. Little Jobie. The Dr. says that it happens occasionally in medical history. My left side is swollen up now and now I think that my right is going to swell up. However my temp is normal and I feel fine. Day before yesterday when I wrote that letter I had just discovered that I had them. I was in the Physics lecture class when the lecture became very dull. I yawned, “who who” what’s that pain below my left ear? Mumps? No, it can’t be, I’ve had them. But then I began to get sore. By the time the lecture was over I didn’t dare go to lab. I went to the Dr. he said, “no you don’t have the mumps, but you probably will by tomorrow.” So I went back up stairs and wrote that letter. Sure enough by yesterday morning I had them enough to be sent to the hospital. The average stay here is about two weeks but since I don’t have them bad perhaps I can get out sooner. I can’t think of anything else to say so I’ll quit.Love,Joe | |
