N.Y.3-9-45Dear Folks,My mail finally caught up with me in force. In the last two days I’ve gotten 19 letters. Tommy, John and Bob got about the same amount. We’ve been sitting back in luxury reading them while everyone else sits back and enveys us. Aside from my usual fans, there was one from Grace and one from the new preacher. He told me to take care of myself and not submit to the evils and temptations that come to one in the army. Also, my sheets came yesterday. They must have made pretty good time, no? I aired my bed today and am going to make my bed, put on my blue silk pajamas and test hop my sheets as soon I finish this. Now Mama, I have a very special request. I want you to mail one of my pictures to a certain young lady I met in Topeka. Her name and address is Dolly Mosiman,715 Mulvane, Topeka Kansas. She wants it and I want her to have it. You have an extra one don’t you? If you don’t you can have Mr. Manning make you some more. Thank you Mama, your sweet. Its sheettimenow so I’ll sign off for now. All my love, Joe
