dc.description.transcription	4-22-45Dear Folks,You’ve heard of quickies and you’ve heard of quickies but this is going to top the list. I’m writing this just so I can send our latest crew picture. I think it is pretty good and there may be some more just like it for the rest of the family. You can let Amy have this one for my scrap book. This is the airplane we flew our missions in. We have a new one now. We are going to name it Double Trouble with two pretty women on it. The collection includes a complete set of letters written by Joseph Warren Hays to his family while serving in the Army Air Corps during World War II. The letters detail his aviation training across the United States and his service in Europe toward the end of the war. In his later years, Mr. Hays wrote recollections of his missions over Europe. The collection also includes printed publications, newspaper clippings, a scrapbook, a photograph of Hays, and ephemera.
