dc.description.transcription5-29-45Dear Folks,Still we are sitting heardoing next to nothing. For a little variety todaywe had both a soft ball game and a U.SO. camp show. The show was very good and we won the ball game so it has been a pretty good day. The ball game made seven out of seven that the 707thofficers have won. There is only one other team in the league that is undefeated and they are the 707thenlisted men. Everyone is looking forward to the day when the two teams meet. We’ll be playing against our own crew members and it should be quite a show. Speaking of shows the U.S.O. show was really tops. Not many of them are worth seeing but this one was O.K. While I’m on the entertainment subject I’ll mention that I saw “Wilson” yesterday. I nixed it the first few times it was playing where I was stationed but this time “I seen my chancet and I tuk it.” Our cork ball games have been cancelled for a while until we can aquire a bat. Tom swung at a low one yesterday and hit the ground instead of the cork. Result, one broken broom stick. There is still no new news and incidentally no peanuts. That convoy that turned around and went back to the States on V.E. day messed up the works.I’ll let you know if anything breaks. All my love,Joe
