March 16, 1944 Dear Granny, Am getting along fine and making the best of things I don't like the winters here and all of us are hoping for spring to come. Have about 40 officers here now, 2 more from Ft Worth. Once I get back to the states I'll never leave again. Give Phil, Gary, Ben, and Perrry my love and to do a good job. It has to be done and from where I am I know. Have had 16 of your letters. Love, Amon Jr.
