May 24, 1944 Dead Dad, Have had 43 of your letters, latest March 25th. Have clipping from paper about Capt. Steffen's capture. Since he is not here yet, we believe he is wounded and in a hospital. Lots of his friends are here. Hope his wife has heard from him. Have received both January cigar parcels. Received book on "Advertising Procedure" and "Advertising Production" by Stanley. The last has a big binding error in it. Please send me by airmail letter an escapement wheel for my Elgin wrist watch (no. 34727916) I can't fix it here. Love Amon Jr. Read 11-27-44
