Oct 10, 1944 Dear Dad, Received your letter of Aug 26 today making a total of 57 from you. Also received three from Jean today. Her's have recently been coming in bunches. Here are the names of 2 more Texas officers who have been here about a week. Lt. Charlie Buerger, Rt 4, Box 30, Brenham + Lt AL Vetrano Jr 1006 Rochow, Houston. WIth 800 officers here now it is getting rather difficult to know everyone. we are all doing everything possible to make the time pass as quick as possible, but I can't see myself at home before next spring at the earliest. I can't understand why the people at home are so optimistic because I have learned a lot in 19 months. I am glad you feel the same as Mrs. Ericson does about certain matters, but please don't write and say ow nice certain people are. It makes me mad. you don't know the half of it. I received another cigar parcel yesterday making me a total of 400 cigars on hand. Am still waiting for my food parcel because I can really use it. On Oct. 20th we will be completely out of RC food parcels. we haven't seen or heard from their representatives in 5 months. 275 officers have no overcoats, US blankets, or other important items and it is about winter time and I am sure we will spend it all here. Give my love to everyone. Amon Jr Thanks or pictures of Phil and Pinky
