Brenham, Texas, 6/12/83 Dear Sallie, I send by express today a package of goods for you. I believe that the express packages come to Bro. Raulins store. The package out to get there as soon as this letter. If it does not, have brother to tell the hack driver to get it at Weatherford. I send three prs. slippers, one for you, one for mother, and one for sister. You can take choice of those I send for you and mother. One pair is 81/2, the other is 4 in number. I send four prs. of stockings for you, and three prs. for Jessie. They are very fine. I shall not tell you what they cost, and then you cant tell any body else. There is one pair of silk ones, I think. Bro. Couch sends Addie a pair of excellent shoes, as a present. So he sends to sister the all linen collar. I send two collars each to you and sister. I send brother a coat – think it is very nice. Tell the other children that I will remember them when I come home. I am not so sure now that I will go to Uvalde. I don’t hear anything more from there. Not a thing down here yet. I have not been very well for a few days – a little billious. I took a dose of pills last night and am feeling better today. I don’t believe that I have given any of you a discription of my trip to the country. I will do so in my next to sister. We are having meeting day and night this week. I expect to leave here next Friday, and go out to Bro. Dabney’s, and may stay over there till after Sunday. If so, I shall perhaps not go to Uvalde. I am doing so little good in this country, that I am becoming very much discouraged. I do hope that you all will keep well. Tell bro. Bell that I wrote him a long letter, which ought to have received several days before he was there inquiring for one. May our good Father bless you all. Lovingly, A. Clark.
