dc.description.transcriptionThorp’s Spring, Hood Co., Tex. May 25th, 188_ My dear Addison, The children are all asleep except Jessie, and while I write she is reading her new “Wide Awake” which came this evening. Addie and Carlie have both taken severe colds and did not feel like staying up long tonight. Tiny is quite well now, and just as sweet as she can be. The weather has been quite warm for several days thundered rain this evening and yesterday. I would be glad to have a shower it would help every thing very much. We are not doing much with the weeds they grow faster than we cut them down. Mr. Souther is sick today could not milk today. Mr. Graham come in his place. Addie milked Daisy tonight. We got a load of wood today, we had about picked up every thing that would do to burn. I have no news to write it is the old thing over every day, feed chickens eat our milk and bread and gravy, and sleep I never slept as sound as I do now. I seldom wake through the night. Carlie ways tell papa that he sleeps in the little room with big buby he wants you to get him a wagon that wont break like brothers one that he can haul wood and rocks in. It is getting late and I must stop writing I am feeling to blue to write. Good night, Your affectionate, Sallie.
