My dear Addison,
I received your card of 18th yesterday. Papa you need not bother about getting those dresses, you cant get them ready made without my measure, I meant to tell you to get the calico at Weatherford I sent down to the store for some samples of calico they sent me such an ugly lot of them I did not think I could wear any of it.
Jesse has been sick in bed since Sunday will not be able to be in school any more he has flux, he is better today. I sent Sister down there this morning. I have not felt like going since Monday, want to go this evening when it gets cool.
They want to start to Bonham Monday. I believe the rest of the sick folks are all up, did you get the Doctors letter? he directed to Palestine, I believe I forgot to tell you that Mr. Alf July was married I don’t remember the ladys [sic] name, we have not seen any fruit don’t reckon we will, the weather continues dry and hot, there will not be any thing raised in this part of the country. While you are in Ellis if any one offers to give you homney [sic] do not refuse to take it manage some way to get it home. Brother Bill was in this week, he wanted you to be at home by the second [sic], Sunday wants you to preach some where out there. Addie has been writing with this pen and almost ruined it, I must hunt a better one before I write again. I have riping [sic] up the mattresses having them washed, and making them over I am working on the third one, have two more to make. The children all send love.
Affectionately,
Sallie | |
